Fisher, Margaret J.,90, formerly of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia on Sunday, September 7th, 2025.
Born in Jordan Ferry, Shelburne County, Margaret was the daughter of the late Victor and Grace (Belong) Smith and was raised by her foster parents Jim and Lila Bower of Lower Ohio.
Margaret attended Normal College and Graduated in June of 1954 and took many courses over the years from Acadia and Dalhousie to upgrade her teaching Certificate. She taught for 371/2 years at Lower Ohio, Windsor, Falmouth, Milton Centennial and Liverpool Academy where she retired in 1990.
Margaret was member of the Queens County Retired Teachers Association, Former Zion United Church, The Former I.O.D.E and The Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid reader, flower and animal lover.
Margaret is survived by daughters: Lisa Fisher Dimoff (Trevor), Bedford; Elizabeth (John) Rogers, Digby and her grandson Jamie Rogers (Cherron Baker), Annapolis County.
Besides her parents and foster parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband Kenneth, sister Dorothy and brothers Gordon, Amos, Arthur, Robert and Ivan.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home Liverpool. A private graveside service will be held in Zion Cemetery, College Street, Liverpool. No flowers, donations to S.H.A.I.D. Animal Shelter. Online condolences may be made below.
