MacKinnon, Linda S., 75, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 27, 2025.

Born in Windsor, NS, Linda was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Hortense (Northup) Cochrane.

Linda was deeply committed to her community, serving as president of the Queens General Hospital Auxiliary, where she dedicated countless hours to raising funds for the hospital. Her volunteer work extended to many other organizations, including the Liverpool Baptist Church where she was a member. Her decades of community involvement reflected her passion for helping others and making a difference.

Linda’s priority was her family, and this is where she found her joy and purpose. She organized gatherings and celebrations that were filled with love and laughter, creating cherished memories. Linda's family will always remember her as the heart of their family, a source of wisdom, strength, and unconditional love and support.

She was a loving wife to her husband of fifty-five years, Dennis; a supportive mother to her children, daughter Ginelle (Stuart) Starritt, sons Brad and Dan (Marca); and a nurturing “Grammie” to her nine grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in watching them grow, offering encouragement and unwavering support every step of the way.

Linda's siblings, sister Isobel Lowe and brother Donald (Lin), held a special place in her heart, and she maintained close relationships with them throughout her life. She was predeceased by her brother, Norman “Buddy” Cochrane.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Noah Lohnes officiating with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Queens General Hospital Foundation, Queens General Hospital Auxiliary, or a charity of your choice.
