After so many memorable moments enjoying her bright eyes and loving smile we must say goodbye to our Mother, Lillian Bernice Inness, who passed away at the age of 101 years on June 22, 2025 at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, with her family by her side.
Lillian or Lil, as she was so adorably called, was born to Nina Pearl (Verge) and Lawrence Osbourne Hupman, in Summerville Centre, Queens Co.
As a loving mother of 9 children she had a very busy life. She will be remembered by many who shopped at the Smith’s Grocery in Hunts Point where she worked. While attending the Wesley United Church she was always there to volunteer her baking and cooking skills for the church suppers and other events at the Hunts Point Community Hall. She attended the Summerville Christian Church/Disciples of Christ with her family as a child and returned later in life.
Mom enjoyed travelling with her family, singing along to her favorite hymns and songs, playing cards and even doing so at 101 years she still won most of the time. She loved bingo and won her last game just days before her passing.
She is survived by her children; Audrey Levy, Mona Whynot, Sharon Page (Dan), CarolAnn MacAdams, Rick MacAdams (Gail), Shirley Townsend and Joan MacAdams-Page. She is also survived by her brother John “Alton” Hupman (Kay), sisters; Gladys Roach and Anne Theriau.
Mom was predeceased by her first husband, Roma A. MacAdams, her second husband Gerald E. Inness, and her sons Murray and David MacAdams. Siblings: Infant brothers Jordan and Nathanel, LeRoy Hupman, Melbourne Hupman, Pearl FitzRandolph, Elnora Ellis, Irene Hurdell, Alice Smith, Douglas Hupman, and Elizabeth Stephens.
Mom’s legacy lives on through her next generations. She has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Watch from above Mom as we continue to grow!
The family would like to Thank Dr. MacKinnon and the nursing staff at Queens General Hospital for such devoted care provided during Mom’s last days. We would also like to extend our thanks to Tim and Gloria Rudderham who cared for Mom at Stonehaven Lodge, the staff at Surf Lodge, Lockeport, and the staff at Queens Manor, Liverpool.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers Funeral Home, Liverpool. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception. Family flowers only.
