Kenneth Harvey Cameron

d. January 2, 2026

Kenneth Harvey Cameron, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on January 2, 2026, at Queens General Hospital in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, at the age of 69. After a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s, we take comfort in knowing his struggle has ended and that he is now at peace.

Ken was born in Halifax and spent his early years there, cherishing summers with his grandparents, before the family moved to the Cameron family home in Middlefield, Queens County. He lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and unwavering selflessness. He was the kind of person who always put others first — offering quiet support, a steady presence, and unconditional love to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He lived by the principle: “The happiest life is a life of service to others.”

Whether through his career with the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Mosher & Rawding Construction, his countless volunteer roles, his faith, or personal interests and hobbies, Ken lived with quiet integrity and compassion. He never sought recognition, yet his impact was profound—felt deeply by family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. He will be remembered for his patience, sense of humor, wisdom, generosity, devotion to family, and for the way he made people feel seen, supported, and loved.

Ken was a devoted husband to Alice Cameron, sharing 42 years of love, partnership, and cherished memories. He was a proud and loving father to Evan Cameron (Rebecca Snow) of Dartmouth, and an adoring grandfather to Madeleine Cameron, who brought him immense joy and pride. Ken is also survived by his sisters Donna (Lloyd) Martin and Debbie Cameron of Hunts Point, and Karen (Bill) Countway of Bridgewater. Ken was a dear brother and beloved uncle who will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews for his warmth, humor, and gentle guidance.

Ken was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Allison Cameron, who remained a source of love and pride throughout his life and his sister Diane Gates (Dartmouth).

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 11, at 2:00 p.m., at Brooklyn United Baptist Church. Donations may be made to Queens Adult Day Respite Program or Brooklyn Baptist Church, in keeping with Ken’s generous spirit. Online condolences may be made below.

Ken’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. “Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”
