Carver - Karl L., 63, of Maitland Bridge, Annapolis County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at home.

Born in Caledonia, Queens County, Karl was a son of the late Randall and Marguerite (Minard) Delong and his adoptive parents Kenneth and Edna Carver.

Karl attended North Queens Rural High and graduated from the Lunenburg Regional Vocational School's welding course in 1983. He worked with Lands and Forestry until starting at Bowater Mersey. He worked there as a scaler and fire chief of the Oakhill Sawmill Fire Brigade until his early retirement in 2012. He was also a long time active member of the North Queens Fire Association where he dedicated 43 years to serving his community; 10 of those year being spent as the Fire Chief. Karl also had of love of partaking in a variety of woodsman competitions. Once his health no longer allowed him to be an active participant, he took on more of an organizing and announcing role. He had a large Woodsmen family that will miss him immensely.

Karl thought dearly of his grand-kids He was rarely seen out and about without at least one by his side.

Surviving are his companion Kelly Wile, his daughters Felicia fancy (Vincent Mansfield) of Westfield; Katelyn Fancy (Alex Wright) of Hebb’s Cross and his son Keegan (Peyton Herman) at home. His grandchildren Marshall, Jeremiah, Nathaniel, Sebastian and Cadence Mansfield. His sister Sandra (Ronnie) Ellis of Northfield and his brothers Glenn Delong of Milton; Stanley (Audrey) Delong of BC and David Delong of Northfield.

Besides his parents and adoptive parents, Karl was predeceased by brothers Brian and Gary Delong.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the North Queens Fire Hall in Caledonia. Donations may be made to the North Queens Fire Department Truck Fund.
