Karen Maureen Joudrey

JOUDREY - Karen Maureen ,83, of Middlefield, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.

Born in Caledonia and raised in South Brookfield, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Freda (Carver) Kempton.

Karen married her life long love Vincent in September of 1963. Karen worked in housekeeping at several locations including Digby Pines and the Freeman House, eventually settling at Hillsview Acres, until her daughter was born, she then became a stay at home Mom to care for Cheryl followed by son Laurie. After the passing of her husband, she moved in with Laurie’s family and split her time between both children’s homes. Karen loved her shopping trips with Cheryl it didn’t matter where they ended up she was always eager to go. She faithfully watched the news every night, and was very proud of herself when she finally learned to use her tablet. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, evening chats with her sister, word searches and spoiling the family pets with treats. Karen will be dearly missed by her family and friends who to her meant everything.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Ann of Labelle; son Laurie (Rachel) of Middlefield; grandchildren Dylan (Tyler), Abagail, Logan, Jordis and Madison; sister Roberta Frail of South Brookfield.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years Vincent, sisters Hazel and in infancy Sheila, brothers Craig, Rodney and Glen.

Cremation has taken place under the directions of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. At Karen’s request, there will be no funeral service. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Queens General Hospital Foundation, Liverpool, N.S. or a charity of choice. Condolences may be made below.
