Julie I. Hupman

Hupman - “Julie” I., 72, of Summerville, NS., passed away suddenly Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.

Born in Sandy Point, Shelburne, County, she was a daughter of the late Glenn and Marion (Pictou) Roache.

Julie’s dedication to West Queens Recreation Hall started alongside her mom Marion and she continued tirelessly fundraising to make her mom’s dream a reality. Julie enjoyed assistant coaching and score keeping for the Bud’s boys ball team. She played broomball on the Rascals team. Julie’s love of crafts kept her busy most day’s, you name it she probably tried her hand at it at some point in her life. Her hobbies included sewing, fishing, reading, late night T.V. watching. Julie sold her crafts at Wasoqopa’q First Nation pow wows and events. Julie loved watching the hummingbirds buzzing around her feeders.

Julie is survived by her husband of 56 years Larry; daughter Marrinna (William) Wells, beloved grandchildren Jayd (Becky) Wells and Xander Cromwell; sisters Barbie (Rich) Vienneau and Susie Vienneau; brothers Glenn (Jackie) Roache and Billy (Shelly) Vienneau; brother in laws Brad Crouse, Wayne (Lynn) Hupman and Dave Saulnier as well as many nieces and nephews.

Beside her parents, Julie was predeceased by sisters Lillian Wagner and Sarah - Ann Crouse; brother Norman Roache; brother in laws Edward Hupman and Winford Hupman; sister in laws Marion Parnell and Bea Saulnier.

Cremation has taken place under the direction and care of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of choice. 

The family wishes to thank the Emergency room team at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool for their compassion and care shown to them in there time of need.
