Judith Marie Giffin

d. Nov 5, 2026

Judith Marie Giffin, 82, passed peacefully on November 5th 2026 with family by her side.

Born in Caledonia, Queens County, Judy was a daughter to the late Kenneth and Marion (MacInnis) Corkum .

Judy was a founding member of the Ground Search and Rescue Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. For them, she would do or buy whatever she wanted to because she was their grandmother and you couldn’t tell her what to do. She had a spunky personality, was quick whited, never afraid to put in her two cents and made everyone around her laugh. She made the best brown bread and hamburger soup. She was always up for a board or card game. She swore she never cheated and that luck was on her side because she won every single game. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her children Ingram (Patti, her daughter Keara) and Jane (Pat), grandchildren Katelyn, Mandi (Marie), Michael, Douglas (Jen), Amanda, Jake, Jonny (Karlie). Great grandchildren Keighan, Jonathan, Thor, Tomie May, Connor and Patrick. Sister Wendy. Brothers Monty (Jill) and Graham. Many nieces, nephews and friends, Son in law Scott, Mandi’s mother Crissy, and her lifelong friend’s Janet and Helen

She was predeceased by her first husband, Douglas Judge, and second husband, Pierce Giffin, the love of her life. Her son Peter and brothers Clayton in infancy and Dan also predeceased her.

Cremation has taken place under the direction and care of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Queen’s Adult Day and Respite Program. A graveside service will take place Thursday, November 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. In Zion United Cemetery, Payzant Street, Liverpool, N.S. Reverend Judy Cross Officiating.

Special thanks to all of her many friends at the Queen’s Adult Day and Respite Program, including her “boyfriend” Earle, the other half of “the old married couple” providing plenty of entertainment for the rest of the group. And the lovely staff Robbie-Lynn, Michelle, Jenn, Nicole, Kim, Shannon, and those who have been there over the years. They treated her like family and loved her as if she were their own grandmother. Her wonderful home care team Lindsay, Karen, Pam and Tina. Everyone at the VON, and the staff at Queen’s General Hospital for their compassionate and exceptional care not just for her, but for her family as well.

We have been overwhelmed by the love shown by the many family members and friends who have visited
