Jason Donald McKinnon

McKinnon - Jason Donald, 40, of Hinton, AB, formerly of Milton, Queens County, NS passed away June 28th, 2026.

Born in Halifax, he was a son of Robert and Vicky (Whynot) McKinnon.

Jason was a forestry silver culture technician in Nova Scotia, working for both Northern Fiber & Mersey Seafoods before moving to Hinton, Alberta. There he worked for Kos Forestry in the mill yard and drove heavy machinery.

Jason enjoyed fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling with friends, canoeing, woodsmen competitions and the Nova Scotia Guides.

Besides his parents, Jason is survived by his brother, Robert Jr. (Shannon) and sister, Robin, both of Milton.

Jason is now re-united with his twin brother, Jeff.

A graveside service to celebrate Jason’s life will take place Friday, August 7th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Milton Community Cemetery, Milford Street, Milton. Family, friends and co-workers are invited to attend. There will be a reception held at the Milton Baptist Church Hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or IWK Hospital.
