It is with deep sadness that the family of Jane Elaine Newell, 70, of , Voglers Cove, Nova Scotia announce her passing on March 14, 2026 at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born to Borden Creaser and Viola Elaine (Smith) Creaser, Jane built a life centered around family, hard work and dedication to her community.
Jane shared her life with Robert “Brian” Newell from a young age and their bond remained strong throughout the years. Together they built a family and a life full of shared memories and mutual support. Jane was always there for Brian and their lifelong partnership was a foundation for the family she loved so deeply.
Jane was known as a strong and capable businesswoman who enjoyed her work and welcomed the challenges it brought. Passionate and determined, she earned the respect of many through her dedication and strong work ethic. Because of her commitment to the business, much of her social life was connected to work and over the years her employees became close friends.
Outside of work, Jane treasured the time she spent with family. She enjoyed attending car shows with Brian, going for drives, dining out and taking walks together. With her daughters she loved to shop and especially looked forward each year to their annual trip to Halifax before lobster season. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and as a strong, determined woman whose passion for her family and work will leave a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Jane is survived by her husband, Brian; her daughters, Amanda (Mitchell) DeMone of East Port Medway and Shona (Nathan) Williams of Hebbville, who were not only her daughters, but also her best friends; her brother, Michael (Carla) Creaser of Oakhill; and her grandchildren, Blake, Faith, Erica, Taylor and Chanel. Her love for her grandchildren was boundless. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she was immensely proud of the people they were becoming.
She was predeceased by her parents Borden and Viola Elaine (Smith) Creaser.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, where a visitation will be held Wednesday, March 18 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The service will take place Thursday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a private family burial.
