It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Allan Dwyer on May 6, 2025, just shy of his 74th birthday.
After reconnecting in the spring of 2021, Jim and Rosemary were married on August 27th 2022. They settled on Little Tancook Island, Nova Scotia, where they enjoyed a peaceful life filled with music, friendship, and the simple pleasures of island living. In the fall of 2024, they moved to a cozy cabin on Molega Lake in North Queens, to be closer to family.
Jim proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces and retired in March 1976 in Calgary, Alberta, where he went on to raise his family. He had a deep love for reading, playing guitar, singing with friends, and creating with his hands through woodworking. He especially treasured family camping trips - times spent in the wild, full of laughter and adventure.
Jim was a gentle soul with a generous spirit, loved beyond measure, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary LeFrense Dwyer; his cherished children: Marcie Stewart (Warren Smith), Katie Longeway (Kevin), and Keith Brodie (Laura Hanson); and his treasured granddaughters, Jacquie Brodie and Amelia Longeway.
He is also lovingly remembered by his stepchildren: Jane Antovic (Ratko; children Stefan & Branislav) and Kevin Croft (Amy; children Scott, Bryden, and Frank). Jim leaves behind his devoted sisters: Clara Gilliam, Sharon Boyd (Frank), Frances Lynch (Wayne), and Patricia Dwyer.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS.
