Harriette Elizabeth Raine, daughter of Lester and Trudy Clements.

Mom to her sons Todd (Sarah Jane) and Jeff. Grammy to her treasured grandsons Peter and Charles. Liz or Lizzy to her brother Ford (Janet), her lifelong support; Nephew Damon (Nicole), Sophie and Luc; Nephew Ryan, and Niece Dylan. Liz also to Blair (Pearl) and Miles and to Margo, her bonus daughter and to her bonus sister Shelley. Occasionally, an exasperated “Elizabeth” to her husband Bill (de sotto if he was smart).

Some people take life as it comes, just go with the flow. Not Lizzy. She took life by the throat and squeezed out every ounce of adventure and joy that she could.

A professional, a community volunteer, a neighbour and a friend. Liz was always ready to give and to help.

She was a world traveller, who was the driving force behind two extended forays abroad for her family. These experiences enriched all of us. However, she was not limited to travel with her family, often enticing friends to join her on her journeys.

These experiences enriched all of us. We still look up to Liz’s way of dressing to impress with purpose and authenticity. Liz has influenced others adventurous and creative exploration with cooking. We have all been motivated by Liz’s knack, excitement, and utter obsession for a good thrift! And through her stories of travel, Liz inspired many others to step out of their comfort zones and see the world.

Liz took a big bite out of life. Our lives are the poorer for her parting.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. There will be no service. Visitors are always welcome at our home, when the front door is open.
