Harold Stanley Freeman

FREEMAN - Harold Stanley, 69, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026 at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, N.S. surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Liverpool, Harold was a son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Sarty) Freeman.

Harold will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends including his sister Linda (Greg) Hanley, Marilyn Scobey, Susan (Devin) Mansfield, all of Mersey Point and Brother Michael of Bridgewater.

Harold had a lot of different jobs in his life, mostly carpenter work and roofing but he also spent a time as a sous chef, a butcher and a tree trimmer....He loved an adventure and traveled from the East coast to the West coast ..usually by hitchhiking .. and worked at whatever opportunity came along.

Harold had a heart of gold and was generous to a fault.. he would help anyone who asked, often when he didn’t have it to give. He was a kind and loyal friend.

Harold is survived by his sisters Linda (Greg) Hanley, Marilyn Scobey, Susan (Devin) Mansfield and brother Michael, sister-in-law Patricia Freeman and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Harold was predeceased by his brother Robert.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S. A graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Queens General Hospital Foundation, Liverpool, N.S., VON or the Red Cross.

The family would like to thank the staff at Queens General Hospital, VON, Red Cross and Home Care for the care and compassion shown to Harold.
