Gloria Anne Theriau

Gloria “Anne” (Hupman) Theriau, 91, formally of Summerville Centre and Liverpool, passed away on March 14, 2026 at Surf Lodge Nursing Home in Lockeport.

Born in Summerville Centre, Queens Co. on to Lawrence and Nina (Verge) Hupman, Anne was one of 14 children. She grew up in Summerville Centre and lived there most of her life.

Anne was an active member of Summerville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she sang in the choir and served in several positions for many years. Later in life she attended the Milton Christian Church.

Anne loved to travel visiting family and friends. She was always up for a fun trip. She enjoyed her newspaper and doing the crossword puzzles daily.

Anne is survived by sons, Bryan (Cheryl), Canaan; John (Patty), Port Mouton; Peter (Lisa), Summerville Centre; Paul (Tracey), Morristown; and daughter, Lynnette, Liverpool. Also survived by brother, John “Alton” (Kay) Hupman, Summerville Centre and sister, Gladys Roach, Liverpool. Grandchildren: Miranda, Dartmouth; Krista, Liverpool; Christopher (Katie Pistor), Ottawa; Gregory (Jennie Hynes), Spain; Joshua (Claudette Ross), Sauté Ste. Marie; Felicia (Kody Fleming), Summerville Centre; Brandon, Berwick; Nikita, (Jaden Lent), Digby. Great grandchildren: Connor, Avery, Maximus and Sullivan.

Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by husband, Charles “Sonny” Theriau; Siblings: Infant brothers Jordan and Nathanel, LeRoy Hupman, Melbourne Hupman, Pearl FitzRandolph, Elnora Ellis, Irene Hurdell, Alice Smith, Douglas Hupman, Elizabeth Stephens and Lillian Inness.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Surf Lodge for the excellent care they provided to our Mom.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 1:00 pm, followed by a reception at Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport. Online condolences may be made below.
