Gehue – Gary G, age 78, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14th, at Queens General Hospital in Liverpool, with his loving wife by his side.

Born in Digby, Nova Scotia, Gary was the beloved son of the late Flossie (Eisnor) Gehue Campbell and stepson of the late James “Scottie” Campbell.

Gary began his career with the Liverpool Police Force. He later moved on and found his passion as a dedicated paramedic, working with Chandler’s Ambulance Service, Queens Regional Ambulance Service and Chandlers’ Funeral Service Limited for 25 years, finishing off the remainder his career for another 10 years with Emergency Health Services.

Over the years, Gary enjoyed volunteering with various organizations, including the Lunenburg Queens Special Olympics as a board member and coach; the Zion United Church Cemetery Committee; the Queens County Crime Prevention Breakfast; and as a board member for the Hank Snow Society.

Gary will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, strength, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. His legacy of service and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Donna (Wiles) Gehue; his daughter Lisa (Scott) Caissie of Dieppe, New Brunswick; Karen Gehue of Brooklyn, Nova Scotia; and Kevin Gehue of Liverpool, Nova Scotia. His grandchildren; Kala Ben-Mohamed of Dieppe, New Brunswick, and Ryleigh Theriau (Laura McCarthy) of Upper Northfield, Lunenburg County; and his great-grandson, Landon Theriau. Gary is also survived by his son-in-law, Beryle Theriau, and chosen daughter, Aletha James.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandler’s Funeral Home, Liverpool. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 2 until 4 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool, NS. No flowers by request. Donations can be made to Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Online condolences may be made below.
