Marjorie Irene Francis

FRANCIS – Marjorie Irene, 78
Sadly, Marjorie passed peacefully Sunday, November 12, 2023, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, with her sister Valerie by her side.
Born in Milton, she was a daughter of the late Clayton William and Stella may (Wentzell) Conrad.
Family was everything to Marge, helping to raise her siblings before starting her own family with Eddie.
Their home was full of kids, friends and family, dogs, cats and love. When her own children had left the nest, she made a home for one of her grandkids (all were welcome). Marge was most happy whenever there was “a gathering” requiring copious amounts of food to be prepared.
Marjorie was a shining light that held her family together, especially during the last nine years after her husband’s passing. She always led by example and no matter the challenge she was ready for it. She spent most of her life putting her family’s needs first and truly enjoyed doing so. A simple call from her children that they were coming home, would set into motion a full course meal preparation, with multiple desserts being whipped up. Christmas was her favorite holiday to spend with her family. Holidays will never be the same without her no matter where the gathering or celebration. Her kids will remember the efforts and sacrifices she made to ensure her family always came first, in memory of her. Marjorie kept a small circle of friends and all who knew her would agree that she was loyal and genuine. Her family will miss her and all the good she brought to this world, but takes solace knowing she now celebrates union with her belated husband.
She is survived by her children Edward, Darryl, and Cory of Yarmouth, Rodney and Anita (Michael) Howard of Milton, her sisters Valerie (Kenneth) Schrader of Mersey Point, Lorraine (Phillip) Whynot of Great Hill, Jaqueline Whynot of Sandy Cove, Wanda of Liverpool, brothers Albert (Grace) and Randy (Cathy) both of Milton. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and her cat Zeekie.
Besides her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Edward Wayne Francis, infant sisters Shirley and Elsie, brothers Clayton Alfred and James “Sonny”.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, Nova Scotia. At Marjorie’s request, there will be no funeral service. No flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. To share remembrances or condolences please visit www.chandlersfuneral.com
