Florence Elizabeth Thistle

Thistle - Florence E., 95, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor, Liverpool, on Wednesday, September 11, 2025.

Born in Liverpool, Florence was a daughter of the late Albert and Evelyn (Bell) Weagle.

Florence was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake. She loved family gatherings and sing songs with her sisters. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandson. They brought much joy to her. She also loved her Manor family and was known to pass out suckers and candy.

Florence had a strong faith belief and read her bible daily up until her eyesight began to give her trouble. She enjoyed Christmas and decorated her own Christmas tree up into her early nineties. Music was a passion for Florence who loved to play the guitar and she always had to have her hair done. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her daughters Sandra (Bruce) Knapton of Bedford; Tracy (Kevin) Samuels of Liverpool.Her sons Gary (Sue) of Liverpool and Tim (Barb) of Bedford. Nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a great great grandson. Her sisters Ellen MacLeod of Milton and Ann Sperry (Darrell Ernst) of Chester.

Besides her parents, Florence was predeceased by her spouse Clair, her son Pat, her granddaughter Chloe; her sisters Phyllis Weagle, Dorothy Comeau and her brothers Murdock and Albert Jr.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool, NS. Reception to follow. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Payzant Street, Liverpool.
