Erna Elizabeth Anthony

Anthony - Erna E., 89, of Charleston, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor, Liverpool on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Born in Charleston, Erna was a daughter of the late Vincent and Dorothy (Vaughn) Hirtle.

Erna was a former member of All Saints Anglican Church in Mill Village. She loved to shop sometimes two trips a day and she loved flowers especially roses. Erna will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Erna is survived by her sons Chris of Caledonia and Joseph (Andrea) of Mill Village. Her grandchildren Tracy (Justin) O’Connor and Andrew.

Besides her parents, Erna was predeceased by her husband Oscar Jr., her son Shawn and her infant sister Eleanor.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 27, 2026 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool, NS. Burial will be in New Charleston Cemetery. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Queens Manor, Liverpool or to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made below.
