It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Elsie Jane Morton, 91, of Liverpool. She passed away peacefully at Queens General Hospital on September 30th, 2026.

Born in Liverpool, she was the daughter of the late John and Eliza (Schrader) Dagley.

Elsie started her working life at an early age at the Liverpool Telephone Office as an operator. She also enjoyed numerous other jobs over the years such as the Liverpool Advance Office and Liverpool Flower Shop.

She was happiest working side by side with her husband James on whatever project he was involved in such as Photography, Printing, Poultry Farming and Morton Building Supplies. However, her favourite was being the Singing Apple Man’s, Apple Queen. They enjoyed tending to their apple orchard, going to talent shows and weekend dances. In her later years she enjoyed volunteering at the Queens Manor, helping the other Bingo Ladies with bingo every Tuesday.

Step grandchildren Stephen Mansley (Nicole Bryenton), Krista Stewart and Sara Jane Hicks (Jason Hicks). Great Grandson Benjamin Hernandez who brought her much joy. Step great grandchildren Hayla Stewart, Kynan Stewart, Archer Stewart and Willow Mansley. Her sister in law Shirley Morton and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her grand fur babies Diamond and Bella , which brought her many hours of joy and snuggles in her favourite chair.
