Born in Liverpool, Devin was a son of the late Greg and Vicky (Smith) Whynot.
Devin resided in Mersey Point all his life with his brother Nick and were inseparable. They were always seen travelling in the same circles, both sharing the same common interests. Devin graduated from Liverpool Regional High School and continued his education attending NSCC Lunenburg campus where he graduated as a diesel mechanic. Devin held many responsibilities. He was a school bus driver throughout Queens County and beyond, an active volunteer firefighter with Port Medway, Greenfield and Liverpool Fire Departments where Devin just received his honorary status. Throughout Devin’s firefighting career, he wore many hats. A firefighter, operator/engineer, medical first responder retiring as an honorary Lieutenant. Devin was very proud of his positions that he held in the fire service and only to happy to help a friend or someone in need and give back to his community. Devin was also a member of the Liverpool Ground Search and Rescue and the local four wheelers club. Devin kept himself busy and had a lot of likes including watching baseball and hockey and cheering for his favorite teams, both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Leafs There was a rival between him and Nick, both followed the Blue Jays, but Nick is a Montreal Canadiens fan, “say no more”. Devin also enjoyed wrestling, four wheeling, hunting and washer toss and was an amateur ham radio member speaking to many from near and far. As Devin’s health became worse, he could always count on his brother Nick and Aunt Betty Anne to help him through these troubled times. Devin was always strong despite what life threw at him and, in the end, always wanted to return to Liverpool to be closer to both friends and family.
Devin is survived by his brother Nick of Mersey Point; Aunt Betty Anne (Ron) Daury of Milton, NS; and special k-9 companion Jake.

Nick would like to thank everyone who touched both his and Devin’s life and thank each and everyone for their kindness and support in these trying times. Nick asks that in memory of his brother, an act of kindness be shown for those less fortunate and remember that he is always close in our hearts.
