Mildred Aurelia Conrad

CONRAD, Mildred Aurelia, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away at Queens Manor on December 31, 2023.
Born in Cherry Hill, Lunenburg County, Mildred was the eldest child of the late Stanford and Pearlie (Slauenwhite) Nowe.
Mildred was a child of the depression, leaving school at an early age to go to work. She married at age nineteen and loved raising her three children. She studied at night to become a secretary, working eventually for the town of Liverpool and Bowater Mersey. For many years she worked in the offices of Queens General Hospital.
Largely self-educated, Mildred was an avid reader who loved to knit, sew and craft. She also was an excellent cook and baker, frequently making each of her children their own favorite pie when they came home.
Mildred is survived by her children, Lynn Christiani of Epsom, England, Greg (Lin) and Reid (Sharilyn), all of Liverpool. She had three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mildred was predeceased by her loving husband, Elroy Prior Conrad, and her three younger brothers, Murray, Chester and Ronnie.
Mildred will be buried with a private graveside service as per her request, under the direction of Chandlers Funeral Home. No flowers please. Donations may be made to the Recreation Department of Queens Manor or the charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank Pam Whynot, whose loving and happy companionship has meant so much to Mildred over the last ten years. Many thanks to the staff of Queens Manor for their tireless and tender care of Mildred during her final years.
