CLATTENBURG – Laurie Eugene, 73, of Port Medway, Queens County, NS, passed away in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, on Sunday, February 11, 2024 with family by his side.
Born in Liverpool, Laurie was a son of the late Charles and Joyce (Hurlburt) Clattenburg.
Laurie was with Michelin 35 years on the management team and always had a story to tell. He could always give the best advice on places to eat. He played Santa for 30 years and was an associate member of the Mersey Branch #38, Royal Canadian Legion, Liverpool, NS since 1975. Laurie was an avid outdoorsman when he could and watched re-run after re-run of Wild TV, sports channels and was a big Patriots fan. He loved attending craft fairs and selling his up cycled jewelry and loved kids especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Laurie is survived by his wife Janet (Yockell); daughter Carol Clattenburg (Brooke Crowell) of East Mountain, NS; son Adam (Vanessa) of Yarmouth, NS; grandchildren Sebastien Peters of Halifax, Jade and Kaya Smith and Nash Clattenburg all of Yarmouth. His brothers Brad (Karen) and Greg (Janina), both of Port Medway. His adopted family; Winnie (Dave) Sheeny and their children Ruth and Wyatt who were loved like our own as well as nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Laurie was predeceased by sister Joanne Pless.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception all in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. A private family burial will take place at a later time. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or SHAID Tree Animal Shelter. Online condolences may be made below.
Laurie’s family wish to thank the nurses in ICU South Shore Regional, Bridgewater as well as Dr. Du Toit for their compassion and care.
