Joan Mae Cameron

Cameron – Joan Mae, of Harmony, Queens County, passed away with family at her side as the sun rose and the birds sang on June 28th, 2018 in her 81st year.
Born in Westfield Nova Scotia she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Beulah (Frail) Fancy.
Joan loved the community and people of the area and would often be found at home entertaining the many visitors who stopped in for a chat. Joan loved nature and during her 50 years of marriage to Arnold they found joy wandering the woods and brooks of Queens County, fishing, hiking and enjoying life together. An avid bird watcher one would marvel at her delight in the many species of birds who visited her bird feeders. She was a dedicated caretaker and mom to her cat Suzie and to many pet companions throughout the years. Joan was a die-hard Toronto Blue Jays fan and one of her most recent highlights was that of watching a live game in Toronto. Joan worked for many years at the North Queens Nursing home, a job she dearly loved. Quick witted and funny Joan brought a smile and a warmth to everyone she met. She will be missed by the many who called her mom, grammie, great grammie, aunt, sister, cousin, loving friend and neighbor.
Joan is survived by her daughters Christine (Dwight) Mansfield; Bernice (Mike) Gaetz; Jane Marie (Scott) Jensen; her son Bill (Anne) Cameron. Proud grandmother of Karin, David, Danielle, Scotty, Lisa, Brett and Natalie and great grandmother to Cameron Weslak, Clover and Opal Jensen. A cherished sister to Everette, Basil, Irving, Odessa and Pauline.
Predeceased besides her parents are her loving husband Arnold Eugene; sisters Amy, Elva, Geraldine, Eleanor, and twin sister Jean as well as her brothers Albert, Avery, Borden, Eugene and Barry.
