Mailman - Bernice A, 81, of North Brookfield, Queens County, passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Born in Middleton, NS, Bernice was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Cynthia (Tufts) Simpson.

Bernice was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking and pickling. She was known for her pies especially her apple pies which she baked and froze so she could give them away at Christmas to family and friends. She always made sure her cookie and candy jars were full for her grandchildren and hot dogs were ever present! Bernice loved being in the outdoors and watching the birds. She enjoyed making Christmas wreaths and listening to older style country music. She was well respected in her community for her straight forward, to the point perspective. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, but more so, her dog Moose.

Bernice is survived by her daughters Colleen Weare and Christine (Lee) Zinck, both of North Brookfield; Cindy Simpson of Liverpool. Her sons Donald (Kim) of Bridgewater, William (Lucille) and Lawrence (Denise), both of North Brookfield; Carter (Stacey) of New Germany; Timmie (Carolann) of Pinehurst and Phillip (Wade) of Moncton, NB. Many grand and great grandchildren. Her sisters Shirley Mosher and Margaret Herman, both of Bridgewater and Lorna (Clayton) Corkum of Lunenburg. Her brother William of Simpson’s Corner.

Besides her parents, Bernice was predeceased by her husband Albert, her granddaughter Macy, her grandsons Jason and Jacob, her sisters Barbara Faulkenham and Blossom Weare and her brothers Vernon, Clarey and Seldon.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in Rosette Cemetery, North Brookfield. No flowers by request, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made below.
