Clattenburg, Barry C.
Barry C. Clattenburg of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
He was the son of the late Gerald C. Clattenburg and Ruby P. Gardner. Barry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Beth” A. Lewis, in 2011. He is survived by his brother, Rodney, of Brooklyn, Queens County, Nova Scotia. Born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Barry moved to Alberta in 1974, after graduating with a B.Sc. in geology from Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He worked for over 35 years as a consulting wellsite petroleum geologist, sitting wells in Alberta, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories.
Barry was a member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, The Geological Association of Canada, The Canadian Well Logging Society, and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
In 2012 Barry joined the St. Albert Trekkers Walking Club. He loved this past time and walked all over British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, and Arizona! He made plenty of friends on these walking expeditions.
In keeping with Barry’s wishes, no services are to be held.
Barry and Beth’s ashes will be interred in the family plot at Seaside Cemetery in Brooklyn, Nova Scotia.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
