BABIN – Margaret Anne, 71, of Moose Harbour, Queens County passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2019 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Captain Roy and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) Payzant.
After receiving her BSc. in Radiological Technology from Mount Saint Vincent University, she taught x-ray technology at the Halifax Infirmary School of X-ray Technology. After moving to Liverpool, Margaret Anne worked at various jobs including years spent as a switchboard operator and receptionist at Queens General Hospital.
Margaret Anne loved cooking, gardening, knitting, cross stitching, sewing and enjoying family gatherings. She also liked to exercise outdoors by hiking, snowshoeing, walking and skating. She always took great interest in all her nieces and nephews by following their careers, sports and families.
Margaret Anne is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Frank; her daughters Julie Anne Babin of Liverpool, Jennifer Babin-Fenske of Sudbury, ON, her son Tommy (Tamara) of San Diego. She was an amazing grandmother to Anouk and Emile Babin, Madeleine and Xavier Fenske and Caius, Asa and Desmond Danylewich. She is also survived by her sisters Nancy Hanley of Dartmouth, Phyllis (Dyrald) Cross of Molega Lake and her brother Roy (Jane) of Liverpool.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 7 until 9 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Liverpool. Father Charles Offor officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Burial will be in St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery, College Street. Liverpool. Family flowers only, Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to the Palliative Care Unit , Queens General Hospital. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
