Andrew Roger Burgess

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Roger Burgess of Port Mouton, NS on July 12, 2026.

Andy was born in Liverpool, a son to Roger and Lucielle (Prisque) Burgess.

In 2006 Andy married Esther and they thoroughly enjoyed spending time with friends and family in the Port Mouton area. In retirement Andy could be found on the golf course or in a friend’s garage telling stories. In his earlier years you would have found him at the rink playing at a very high caliber, he sure could hammer the puck.

Andy’s military career took him all over the place; West Germany, Shilo, MB, Gagetown, NB, Chatham, NB and Suffield, AB where he had a large influence on new and old friends. His career started in January, 1965 and ended when he retired July, 1993.

Andy leaves behind his wife, Esther; son, Marty and daughter-in-law, Paris; son, Van and daughter-in-law, Christi and five grandchildren, Quentin, Colin, Abby, Alexi and Ainsley; Esther’s daughter Shelly Gorsedin and family; son James “Jim” Weeks and family; his brother, Philip; sister-in-law, Susan and their daughter, Dawn and son, Brandon. Andrew was previously married to Kathy from 1967 - 2000.

Cremation has taken place under the direction and care of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A celebration of life will take place Friday, July 17, 2026 from 14:00 - 16:00, for the civies that’s 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at West Queens Recreation Center, 70 River Head Road, Port Mouton, NS.
