NORMAN – Freda G., 79, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Friday, September 15, 2017.
Born in Milton, she was a daughter of the late Elvin and Florence (Pace) Dexter.
Freda was a former employee with K&W Bookbinders, Liverpool, the Best Yeast plant in Brooklyn, Stedmans Store and the Metropolitan Store. She served as matron with the RCMP for over twenty years and as deputy registrar for the County of Queens for many years. She was a member of the Queens County Ground Search and Rescue and a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Liverpool Fire Department. She loved her crafts and was an avid bingo player. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband James “Jim”; her daughter Heather (Martin) Leneten of Liverpool and her sons Scott (Tina) of Hebbville and Brad (Jennifer) of Calgary, AB. Her grandchildren Tasha Leneten (Huey Whynot), Matthew (Ona Francis), Cassidy Norman, and Jacob Norman (Kennedy Bagshaw); her great grandchildren Kyra Zinck, Misty Zinck, Zane Leneten and Ivy Leneten and her step great grandchildren Martina Whynot, Olivia Whynot, Leah Whynot and Selena Whynot. Her sisters Gertrude Waters (Bob Howard) of Halifax, Gail (Kevin) Feeney of Lincoln, NB; her brothers Darrell (Kelly Wilson) of Dartmouth, Ricky (Charmaine) of Cole Harbour, Allan of Milton, Half brother Dennis (Katherie) Mackie of England and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in Milton Community Cemetery. Reverend Mitchell Foley officiating. Reception to follow at 499 West Street, Milton. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Queens County Ground Search and Rescue.
