
NICKERSON – FISHER – Gladys C., 83, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor, Liverpool on Monday, April 25, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Redvers and Ivy (Hawes) Nickerson.
Gladys taught school in many one room schoolhouses in Southern Nova Scotia. She also worked as an accountant for the CIBC. Her favorite career choice, however, was being a Mom. Gladys was a long time volunteer with Queens Manor.
She is survived by her daughter Yvette Fisher (Mark Mossman) of Bridgewater; sisters Eva Jenkins (Bob Watt) of Dartmouth, Dorothy (Leon) Thomas of New Glasgow; brothers Carl of Peabody, MA., Robert (Vivian) of Fredericton.
Gladys was predeceased by an infant sister Thelma.
Gladys had a very strong Christian faith, and a heart as big as all outdoors.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A Celebration of Gladys’ life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Pastor Paula Davidson officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home. A private family committal will take place at a later time.
