Margo and I attended Teachers College (we were in E class together) and our first year of teaching was in Shelburne. She was a wonderful friend and we shared a love of writing. I still have our poems.
Lost contact with her ( although I tried many times).
Good memories of those times.
Her obituary brought tears. I know she is at peace and your memories of your life together will bring you strength.

Dear Roger and Shawn,
My heart breaks for your loss. It was a pleasure coming to your home and spending many hours with Margo. Listening to her many stories of her teaching days, and the fun times spent at the cabin, to the trips out west. You both had a love for one another that most never get to experience. And Shawn, your sister always spoke of how proud she was of you. Sending love and strength to you both.

Miss McKinley was my English teacher back in the mid 60s when I was entering junior high school in Lockeport. I am very sorry to read of her passing and extend my condolences to her family and friends. I want you to know that she made a wonderful impression on a timid young girl who was certain she’d never survive the transition from elementary school to high school. I never forgot (and will never forget) how she encouraged me and all her students, her beautiful ability to impart her knowledge in ways we could relate to and how she could make us believe in ourselves and in our individual strengths and creativities. These were life lessons which we could appreciate only in retrospect. I will always remember her with affection and gratitude, and I know I am but one voice. There are so many – of that I have no doubt.
