Munroe, Sheila Pauline, age 62 of Port Medway, Queens County, passed away on January 3rd, 2022 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Brooklyn, Queens County, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Myra (Anthony) Knox.

Sheila was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a caring person, always putting others before herself. She was never afraid to say what was on her mind and what she thought was right. She was a huge advocate for the community and was a big part of the Port Medway Fire Department, and had a vital roll in starting the Port Medway Medical First Responders team. Sheila spent many years working as a P.C.W. before going back to school to become a C.C.A.. In recent years due to her health, Sheila worked at the H.G.S. call center in Liverpool. In her spare time Sheila enjoyed spending as much time as she could at the cabin and spending time with her grandson, Horatio who was the apple of her eye. She also enjoyed making crafts and jewelry out of old odds and ends. Sheila will be missed by her family and many close friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gordon; son, Stephen (Kristin Jollimore) of Port Medway; grandson, Horatio Weare; niece, Jennifer; nephew; Brian.

Sheila was predeceased by a brother Victor.

At Sheila’s request there will be no funeral service. Donations may be made to the Port Medway Fire Department or to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.chandlersfuneral.com
