Your Aunt Lillian and my mother, Mary Davidson, were close friends since their days together at the School for the Blind in Halifax. For Cherry and Larry Whynot
Liverpool Nova Scotiaa.

Gerry Ball told Bertha and I about the passing of Lillian Mooers. I extend my deepest sympathy to Cherry and Larry Whynot and all the family on their loss.

I joined the CNIB in 1980 and visited Lillian in her home. She always impressed me as a highly skilled and independent person who used braille and other communication tools to remain independent for many years. Her example was a source of encouragement to me in my own efforts to deal with vision loss over the years.

Cherry and Larry and family may he lord bless you always.

Dear Cherry
I was very saddened today when my mother told me of Nana’s passing. I can never thank you enough for giving her a home and taking such good care of her. You were her guardian angel and she was so fortunate to have you in her life.
I have so many good memories of summers spent there swinging on the big swing in the yard, roasting marshmallows over the bonfire at night and ordering her favourite Chinese food for supper. We used to play hide and seek in the house, but I could never fool her she found me every time. And who could forget the big jar of ticks she collected from the dog every evening after he’d been outside that day. She told me all about flying squirrels and how you could chew the sap from the big tree in the yard and it was like gum, she was right but you couldn’t blow bubbles with it. She was a truly amazing woman who gave me many wonderful memories that I will always cherish.
