To Audrey’s family, i have had the pleasure to have known Audrey since my days of Kinsmen & Kinettes many years ago.We remained friends ever since. When i worked at Frenchy’s Audrey liked to spend some time looking for a “treasure” either for herself or someone else. She loved to look, mingle with other people , & make them smile when she told a joke, which she was known for, her joke telling. When i moved on to the place i am now Audrey always came in to talk & buy a paint color she needed for her painting. I am the proud owner of a rock & a postcard size painting that is on my fridge. Audrey i will miss seeing you around & hearing your jokes & seeing your warm smile.Fly high my friend with the Angels. Finally you are back in your beloved Carl’s arm. Until we meet again.

My condolences to Audrey’s family, she was a nice lady who was a joy to talk to. I used to bring her rocks for her since May. She would paint them and always showed me her paintings when I visited my mother in law at the manor. I use to see some of her paintings at coastal queens and always told her she would be famous some day, she use to laugh at that and tell me I was funny. I will miss seeing her at the manor when I go to visit. She loves it when I would bring my dog with me, she would brush her and say what a good doggie. Cherish your memories of your mother as she was a sweetheart. I have know her for years, but really got to talk with her this summer at the manor. RIP Audrey, you are in gods hands now.

To “Audrey’s Girls” and their families
For many years Audrey was a customer at the shop that I worked at in Liverpool. We all loved her. She made us laugh (sometimes until we cried), she often shared stories about the fun she had with “her girls”. We got to know her family through her stories even though we had never met them. We knew how much she loved and missed Carl, too. She always brightened our days with her sense of humor. I am sad to learn of Audrey’s passing but so thankful that we were friends for many years. She really was one of the best. My condolences to all of her family.

Audrey was never afraid to share her stories or wear a great hat. If someone needed a “pick me up” she gave them a piece of her art, when she needed a drive she asked for one, and when mom wanted to visit she could cross the street and find a friend.
Audrey always had something to teach us about making a great community and as sad as I am with her passing, I am very happy to have grown up with her in my life.

    Dear Anna-Lise and family,

So sorry for the loss of your mother. I count myself lucky to have been one of the many who loved her. She was a true ray of sunshine in our lives. I enjoyed sitting beside her on Wednesday mornings at the Manor, playing guitar, while she painted. The last time I saw her, just before Christmas, she gave me the painting she had just finished. It is right here beside me while I write this and, in a small way, so is Audrey. I will always treasure it and my fond memories of her.

    To the Milford family,

We have all lost a genuine treasure. You were our next door neighbours when we arrived in 1969 and among the first folk we met. Your parents ‘adopted’ us and introduced us to Liverpool…..Kinsmen, curling and church… And, of course, we appreciated your family of built in babysitters. Audrey was our community’s driving force, with her larger than life personality, quick wit, high principles, a hint of mischeviousness and open friendliness. She will be missed by all who knew her. Her many stories will live on in the memories of her family and friends. Good-bye, good friend.

    David.

Kathie and I were lucky enough to be neighbors of your Mom for many years on Main Street. She had an amazing outlook on life, always with her unique sense of humour. She loved to tell her stories and we enjoyed them every time. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed by all of us who knew her. Sorry for your loss, but we are sure you will have many, many enjoyable memories to keep her alive in your hearts.

    January 23, 2018 at 10:57 am

So much laughter ensued when Audrey was around. Wherever she went, she brought lightened spirits. She always joked that Lorne was her boyfriend, so driving by her on the street one day, I rolled down the window and said, “ Lorne gave me flowers for my birthday”, to which she replied,” Big deal, he gave me jewelry!”
That, quite simply, will always be one of our favourite memories. It cracked us up completely!
Audrey was an inspiration to all on how to maintain humor in advanced years.
Our sincerest condolences to all the family.

    Our condolences to the family.
Mom and dad spoke often and fondly of their friendship with the Milfords; great neighbours, curling buddies, fun times etc.
Mom’s move to Stonehaven Lodge was so much easier knowing that Audrey would be her neighbour again. They could reminisce and joke about old times. Mom will continue to cherish those many fond memories. Audrey you were special, thank you, rest in piece.

You will miss her for certain.. but you just know she is having a hoot wherever she has landed and I hope to land wherever that is someday with her because she was able to bring fun and joy to those around her. Anna-Lise, Lorna and Nancy

There are so many memories and so many stories – memories of Audrey will always bring a lightness of heart and a smile. But my fondest memories and ever lasting gratitude was they way she listened to Mom The story teller would simply sit and listen to her friend tell the story – never frustrating Mom with too many questions but just letting her talk and making her feel that everything was right with the world. She was a very special woman and I feel so grateful that she was part of our lives.

    Hugs to you all

    Lorna, Nancy, Anna-Lise & Families,

I am so appreciative to have had your mum in my life. Even as a kid, the Milford house was my favorite place to play with “Mrs. Milford” turning the simplest things into fun. No wonder I ran away from home and moved in. She was so proud of your girls and loved telling stories, always with that mischievous glint in her eye. She made everything a little more exciting, with equal parts of spunk and wit and kindness. Thinking of you all and hoping you can draw comfort from your close-knit family and every wonderful memory.

Anna-Lise, Lorna and Nancy, I was saddened to hear of the passing of your Mom. Hers was a life well lived. She found the humour in life and her creative spirit has left a lasting legacy in the trail of so many pieces of wonderful art. Our family household held many of her works and they will now carry on in our respective homes. You will miss her greatly as you all move forward without her presence. Dear Anna-Lise, Lorna and Nancy,
I was so sorry to hear about your Mom’s death. She had a major presence in my family during our LIverpool years and later (during summer visits to Port Joli). It was always fun to wander down the beach to the Milford cabin because your mom was always there to greet us with big smiles and wide-open arms. Some of my fondest memories date back to the summer of 1957 or maybe it was 1958 when my parents set up house in an old barn at Port Joli (while they pulled apart the main house). Your family joined us. We all cooked outside and slept in tents. With so many kids and few amenities, it must have been chaos but I remember it as full-on fun! Did your mom ever stop smiling???
Sad to see that generation leave us!
    With love, Wendy (Wickwire)
