Loretta and family I have no words to say what my thoughts are, you know them I’m sure.. Alice was special in my youth and later when we moved back to Westfield, and a silent voice in the in between years…she was my Mum’s best friend and a best friend to many others…always thinking of others, she would make her wonderful strawberry jam and mile high biscuits (warm) and knock on our door with a smile , loved those biscuits…she churned butter in the old days and mum and dad would get some for our house along with fresh cows milk in the bottle…I’d go see Loretta to play and there was always warm bread to feast on , never a word to go home I was made welcome by her and by Nelson when he was home from work…what times there are so many memories, you know them too…my heart goes out to you all…the song that says there’s no love like a Mother’s, is true I know…love to all

To Alice’s Family,
I am filled with so very many wonderful memories of the time spent working with her in the early 80’s at the Nursing Home….her baking the birthday cakes and me decorating them. And the fact that she couldn’t believe that I had never read “Little Women”….I found a copy a few years ago ….and plan the read it and think of her with every page.
Over the years of making that annual Remberance Day “Happy Birthday” phone call …..I miss you my dear friend Alice…..~Pauline Wessell
