To the family of Ernest Macumber, my sincere sympathy on his death. I am a retired nurse and I used to visit his sister Gwyn when I was working in Liverpool. I remember his kindness in taking her into his home, when she returned from the hospital in Halifax and had no where to live. Although I only met him once or twice, he had to be an honorable and compassionate man, to look after his sister like that. After all, that’s what family is all about, isn’t it? My thoughts are with you at this sad time.

Dear Jack, Ken, Honey & family – so sorry to hear of Ernie’s passing. I always enjoyed our times together and remember him as a quiet, gentle man with a wry sense of humour. Thank you for sharing the photos of his baptism in the tribute…I still fondly remember that day! Although I am writing late, you are in my prayers and hope that you have some peace and comfort in this time of transition. Much love to you all, Jen, Gianni, Rita and Victor
