Sandra “Shaune” Macleod

MacLeod – Sandra “Shaune”, age 79, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away on Monday, August 9th, 2021, at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, after a brief illness.
Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Shaune was a daughter to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Reid) Killam.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gordon; son, Scott (Cindy) of Hebbs Cross; daughter in law Paige Rockwell MacLeod of Halifax, grandchildren, Tristan, Chloe and Gabriel sister, Randi (Ted) Dickie of Brooklyn; brothers, Bill, Greg (Lisa) both of Liverpool; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Kirk; sisters, Elizabeth Keating and Patricia Van Beek.
Shaune gave her life to others in her care giving capacity. This included her love and dedication to her family, community and her employment.
She worked several years as a registered nurse graduating in 1964 from the Victoria General School of Nursing. The latter part of her career was at Queens General Hospital as Palliative Care Coordinator helping so many with their comfort.
Shaune had many talents with knitting, crossstitch, gardening and cooking the very best New Years Day Dinner for her large family gathering.
We the family have so many fond memories of Love. We grieve this kind soul who “shone” on us all!
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Service, Liverpool. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 15th, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and a funeral service will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., all from Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Reverend Carol Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Zion United Church Cemetery, Payzant Street, Liverpool. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation. To share memories or condolences, please visit www.chandlersfuneral.com
