The family of Loran MacLeod are saddened to announce his sudden passing, Monday, April 26, 2021 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late Eugene and Evelyn MacLeod of White Point.
Loran was a well known member of White Point, Hunts Point, Liverpool and surrounding communities with strong ties to White Point Golf Club. In his younger days, Loran was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and other activities. Loran excelled at golf and spent many hours on the course in White Point refining his game to include a shot from the tee on #8 across White Point Resort Road, a precise bounce off a rock and onto the green. He was also very proud of a hole in one achieved on hole #3. He worked at Bowater Mersey Paper Company Limited for many years and retired in 2008 to enjoy life in the MacLeod family home in White Point.
Loran leaves behind his sister Jean (Ken) of Lower Sackville; his two nephews and a niece as well as many cousins, other extended family and close friends.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool with a graveside memorial service to be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 in White Point Community Cemetery. No flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
A special thank you is extended to Dr. Ernest and the staff of Queens General Hospital for their excellent care as well as the many friends who helped Loran in the past years.

My sincere condolences to his family. I will remember him for his quick wit, his love for his friends, his love for golf (especially at White Point) and how important integrity was to him. I’ll always think of Bubba when I think of the quarter rang game at White Point. Lots of banter and laughter and the odd dark rumbo. Loran and his late buddy Reg are legends in my mind. I’ll miss him dearly.

Dear Jean and family,
The last few years I visited Loran a few times and really appreciated his sense of humor, his interest in collecting old things (which we had in common) and found he was a very likeable guy. When I visited him a month and a half ago, even though he wasn’t doing the greatest he still had that same sense of humor. He was quick to tell me he didn’t want you worrying about him even though he knew you did. I know you have many wonderful memories that will certainly bring a smile. Just wanted you to know you are in my thoughts during this sad time.
