Brenda Mary (Conrad) Lohnes, age 72, of West Berlin, N.S. passed away peacefully at home on May 23, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. When anyone else would have broken, Brenda stayed strong and determined to live life to its fullest. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.
Born in West Berlin, N.S. Brenda was the daughter of the late Jordan and Marjorie (Colp) Conrad.
Brenda was an active member of St. John’s Anglican Church in Eagle Head and a former member of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary. She also collected donations and volunteered for many organizations throughout the years. Spending time in her flower gardens, taking trips down south, especially the three winters her and Bob spent in Florida, camping and spending time with her family and friends were all activities she enjoyed.
Brenda will be remembered as a selfless, devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother who always had a smile even when times were tough. Always graceful until God called her home.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Robert (Bob) , her son Robert Jr. (Bobby), daughter Kimberly, grandson Isaac, “grand – pup” Reyes and brother Michael (Marian) Conrad.
Besides her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her brother David.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. with a celebration of life being held at 7:00 pm on Thursday June 2, 2022 at Chandlers Funeral Chapel, Liverpool, N.S. Brenda’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to Natalie and the Palliative care team, Dr. MacKinnon, Dr. Harris, the Chemo team, VON, Canadian Red Cross and all those who have shown continued support throughout the years.
