The day we moved into Mill Village, Michael walked over to see if he could help in anyway. He told us later he thought the
Beverly Hill Billie’s had moved into the neighborhood. A few days later he walked over with a cake Corrie had baked
despite her illness.
They welcomed us like long lost friends, told many stories of the village’s history and it’s residents.
Kevin, Debra, Vicky, James & Melissia, this is a difficult time for you, but be reassured your parents where kind and
generous people.
The legacy they left for you, is to be good people, make happy memories, above all else let love prevail.
When the Japanese Flowering Dogwood blooms, we will think of them both and smile.

Heartfelt condolences to Michael’s family and all who knew and loved him.
Every summer when Bob (Michael’s cousin) and I returned to Nova Scotia to visit our families we would stop at Michael & Corrie’s lovely home where we were warmly welcomed. We would sit and chat and then walk through the garden, a place of beauty and tranquility.
I trust you find a measure of comfort and peace in the memories you have tucked away in your hearts.

Mike was like the big brother I never had, will always remember the numerous times I stayed with them when I was 10 and 12 years old, when mom was in hospital. I would want to go skating with Mike and Irving and their friends on the cove but was told I was a girl and too young!! Remember he and Corrie’s wedding and hearing him say that was the happiest day of his life. He is with her now and may they both rest in peace pain free.
Much love and sympathy to all the family left behind, but know that he loved you all very much and will stay in your hearts forever, Dollie and Bud

We were very surprised to hear of Mike’s passing while we are away, being as we were only chatting with him the week before we left. We met Mike a number of years ago, but became well acquainted with him over the past 10 years as our paths crossed very frequently on our common walks up the ‘back road’, where we would stop and ‘jaw’ over many subjects for undefined periods of time!! He was soft spoken but generous in his comments and opinions. He also lived with his illness in an exceptionally brave manner, never focusing on it in our many recent encounters. We have also become better acquainted with Melissa and Debbie over the past few years, and have appreciated their kindnesses to us. To them especially,. and other family members, we express our sincere condolences. Debbie, please remember we are just around the corner if you are ever in need of anything.

Vicky, James, Melissa, Debbie. Kevin and families – I was so saddened to read this evening that your dad passed away last week. Mike and Corrie were very special friends to Woody and I. We were posted together in Goose Bay and Moose Jaw and have wonderful memories of our ATC house parties spent listening to Mike’s classic country tunes, drinks at the sink, charades, belting out “Barret’s Privateers” and dancing up a storm. Mike was my “go to” jive partner! I know he will be rejoicing at being reunited with Corrie and I hope that he seeks out Woody in his Heavenly travels.
May you all find the strength to cope with your loss of such a wonderful father. His legacy will continue through all of you and your families. Sending love and hugs! Linda Fillier
