LANGILLE – Robert H., 46, of Milton, Queens County, passed away on Monday, October 2nd, 2023, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, NS, after his brief battle with lung cancer.
Born in Halifax, Robert was a son of Janie (Westhaver-Langille) Trimper and the late Wayne Langille, stepson of Clyde Trimper.
Robert was a devoted father and great friend as well as a very humble man with a smile that could light up a room. Sense of humor like no other, you could always count on a great story from him about one of his many crazy adventures, history, fishing or whatever came to his mind. Robert was the kind of guy that if you needed anything he would be there for you, his door was always open if you were hungry-come eat, if you needed a place to stay-find a spot. His heart was big. Robert was no stranger to hard work, starting at a young age, he worked many years as a fisherman as well as doing small engine repairs, amongst many other odd jobs. Robert could pretty much fix anything he put his hands on. Family was also a very important part of his life, many people would say he would always make you feel welcome and like family. Robert loved the ocean and spent lots of time visiting one of his favorite places, Tancook Island. Some of his other favorite things to do were gold panning, searching for different gems, nature, hunting, history, R.C. trucks and building stuff. Robert was the type of man that would always take the time to teach and explain why. Didn’t matter what the age he would say never think you can’t do or understand something because of your age. Robert was not only the rock but the glue who held the family together, truly the kindest “friggin” soul that anyone could have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He will be greatly missed.
Robert is survived by his five beautiful children Aliesha, Dawnna, Rebecca, Callissie Jean (C.J.) and Robert (Hazen) Jr.; stepchildren Christopher, Emmy and Chloe; sister Theresa (Stephen) Wentzell of Liverpool; brothers Walter Langille of Cherry Hill and Wayne Langille of Halifax; brother-in-law Hazen Hart of Alberta; partner Meghan Leblanc; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; close cousins Laura (Matthew) Baker; close friends Stephen Freeman and Jason (Denise) Roy; pets Abby and Buck.
Besides his father, Robert was predeceased by the mother of his children, Amanda (Lumseden) Langille and his brother Brian.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Graveside service to take place Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., in East Port Medway Cemetery. Pastor Noah Lohnes officiating. No flowers, donations may be made to Robert’s children or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
