Judge; Miriam Lavonne

November 2, 2020 59 Condolences

Miriaminframe

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Miriam Lavonne (Frail) Judge, at North Queens Nursing Home on November 1, 2020.
Mom was the youngest child of Alden and Letitia (Frausell) Frail of Westfield, Queens County.
In 1952 she married our dad, Leland Judge and they went on to raise three daughters, Coleen ( Jim) Rowter, Sherri (Garth) MacBride and Anita MacQuarrie. Mom was a lifelong member and supporter of the Westfield Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for several years and took part in many fundraisers for her Church and her community. She was blessed with a kind and gentle spirit. Anyone who knew mom, was drawn to her quiet dignity and humility.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, her brother Eaton Frail, grandchildren Bren MacQuarrie, Megan MacQuarrie, Becky (Carlos) Taylhardat, Ryan (Helen) MacBride, Tyler (Ashley) MacBride, Kyle Rowter and Craig (Anne) Rowter. Mom also leaves 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by our dad in 2009, also her sisters Vivian Wamboldt, Audrey Lowe, Dorothy Mansfield, Leona Frail, Janette Mansfield, brother Donald Frail, and son in law Greg MacQuarrie.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of memorial donations, a random act of kindness would be a meaningful tribute to mom’s legacy of kindness in all things.
Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
The family remembers with deep appreciation all those who helped mom in so many ways over the years. We especially wish to express our gratitude to mom’s Nurse Practitioner Renate Bennett, and the staff of North Queens Nursing Home, who cared for mom with such compassion and tenderness.
“We cannot all do great things, but we can all do small things with great love”

A beautiful obituary and so reflective of the gentle sweet lady we knew as Miriam. I knew Miriam both and home and in the Nursing Home and she was always smiling and always quietly called us “Dear”. Her example is reflected in her three lovely daughters and you will miss her dearly but you will also be comforted by your wonderful memories. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

    November 3, 2020

    Dear Coleen, Sherri and Anita,

I am just now reading your dear Mom’s obituary, and my condolonces go out to you all.

I have always had a special spot in my heart for my Larry’s “Aunt Mim” … As has been said, many times, by so many people, your Mom was the epitome of kindness.

We didn’t visit enough when we were in the neighbourhood, but we always knew that we were welcome when we did. We appreciated her visits with Larry while he was still able to enjoy having visitors at Queen’s Manor. (Little did we realize then, that your Mom would pass away before Larry!)

You three sisters are an example of Aunt Mim’s legacy of kindness. The way that you have worked on things together, co-ordinating visits with her at the Nursing Home at a time when only 1 visitor at a time was allowed is just one example of this. I’m sure that there have been many other times when you have looked to one another before making a final decision.

You are blessed to have one another (as I’m sure you already know) during this sad time in your lives. As time goes on, your tribute to your Mom will be to maintain that closeness, and share all sorts of good memories with each other and your children and grandchildren.

I can almost see your dear Mom looking down upon you in those moments, with pride and delight and a heart full of love, as she watches the fruit of her labour as a mother and a grandmother become complete.

“Aunt Mim” – you won’t be forgotten. You will live on within the hearts of your girls and their families, as well as in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing you.

Much love and many prayers to all,

    Lynn and Larry xoxo

Anita, Coleen, Sherri and families, and all extended family members:

Miriam was such a sweet, gentle soul. Greg and I share in your heartache. We’ll always remember her sweet smile and soft-spoken concern for others. Although only for a short period of time, it was so nice that she and Mum shared a room, and we’ll always remember how she would wheel herself over to Mom’s bed to hold her hand in quiet concern. Losing a parent is a heartache that never goes away, but, in the meantime, we feel their loving presence with us always and can be reassured we’ll see them again. Sincerest condolences to you all❤️
