I became very close to Margie in the last few months of her life. I had a soft spot in my heart for her. She always had a beautiful smile that lit up the room, and her jokes were the best even in the last few weeks of her life she always had a smile and positive attitude…I will miss her terribly but I know she is in a place where there is no more pain and suffering. She wanted to go sky diving this summer, I hope she’s doing that right now! Valen, you had a very special Mom, you should be very proud of the courage she showed in the time she was fighting cancer. She will always have a place in my heart!!!

Margie Joudrey was a special person to me. Her passing is an especially sad time for me. I first Met Margie – M.J. as she liked to be called, when I was working at QCCR. Anyone there couldn’t help but meet her. She was our biggest fan from day 1. Living across the street from the station, and a person who liked to rise early, she would see the lights go on at the station and more times than not call to say “Good Morning.” She got a special charge out of the fact that our owner was A.J. Walling. “Good Morning A.J. this is M.J.” was frequently her message – either “live” or when the call was switched to an answering machine.
M.J. seemed to know the birthday, anniversary and significant date of almost everyone in town and was more than happy to share them with us.
She remembered every one out our birthdays and somehow always managed to get a cake in to us. Actually, any reason to fatten us with delicious goodies was enough for M.J.
For me, a newcomer to the South Shore, indeed Nova Scotia, she was a great introduction to the wonderful people here, people she wouldn’t hesitate to praise.
I’m going to miss her, as other will. Liverpool, Queens, is a little poorer today. Rest in Peace, M.J. You were loved.

What can I say, just about every morning I would hear on the phone “AJ this is MJ”…. she was the stations biggest fan and loved Foster ad Allen and the Platters.
Malcolm Charlton one year recorded a CD of Platters music and the station gave her a radio, she loved it.
On the Pulse I do a full story on her.
Rest in peace…MJ

Margie, you were one of my most regular customers, when I had my clothing store, on Market & Main. You’d drop in on your way to or from the hairdresser’s, always looking superb, either way…. I’d tell you that and you’d laugh out loud. Your love of clothes, people, animals, stories, life and your huge heart will always be remembered by me and anyone who knew you. You looked so tired lying there in your hospital bed…. I hope you are at rest now. We will miss your quick hello and your broad smile…. you made a difference… not everyone can say that. Peace be with you.
Peggy Kelley
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

Margie was a good friend of my mother Rita Dagley and Aunt Dot Uhlman. We all will miss her stories and her kind words. QCCR’s biggest fan was MJ. She will be missed by all those who work at the station and the listeners who would hear, “AJ this is MJ” Play this song for me…. or this person’s birthday is today… She will be greatly missed.
