Joudrey – Frank Allen, age 88, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away on Thursday, September 30th, 2021, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Brooklyn, Queens County, Frank was a son of the late Robie and Barbara (Zwicker) Joudrey.
Frank was a jack of all trades and a master of many. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do or fix once he put his mind to it. He was employed for many years with the Department of Highways working on the surveying crews. He was well known for his wood carvings and was happiest when in his shed making them. Some of his carvings are on display at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax and many more can be found throughout the country. Frank loved to listen and play old time country and western music. He could play the guitar and many other instruments. Frank enjoyed talking about the old days. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his son, Chris (Bonnie) of Brooklyn; daughter, Janice (Andrew) Francis of Milton; step son, Bill (Myrna) Nickerson of Lethbridge, Alberta; grandchildren, Maury, Briana, Jenna, Kenan and Gia-Mae; step grandchildren, Haley and Hannah; his adopted family, Charlotte, Cindy, Bucky and Travis.
He was predeceased by his loving companion, Ruth Nickerson; step son, Dave Nickerson; sisters, Shirley, Faye and Marie
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 at 11:00 am, from Seaside Community Cemetery, Brooklyn. As a 5 year old I was fortunate enough to spend many hours in Frank’s workshop watching him carve. He sometimes would let me carve until I cut myself, needless to say my stays were sometimes very short. My second career in life has been carving and I owe this to cousin Frank. A mentor and inspiration. I was very saddened today to hear of his passing. He has been in my heart and thoughts for the last 70 years. My deepest sympathies to his family and you will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow at seaside cemetery.

Chris & Bonnie and family,
I am heartbroken to hear the news of Franks passing. I watched the video and felt so sad and especially when I saw the photos of him with Ruth.i have such great memories of Frank,Ruth and Chris coming to our home and while Chris and I played games, hearing the Moms getting caught up on news/ gossip and the Dads playing music and singing. That’s how I will hold Frank in my memory. Sending love and comforting vibes to you all.Love ya cousin
