It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our brother Christopher Hugh Jones of Liverpool, NS. Chris left us peacefully while in the care of the Valley Hospice, Kentville, on Saturday, June 4, 2022 following a lengthy illness.
Born on February 1st, 1954, he was the second son of the late R.G.B. (Bev) and Helen (Day) Jones of Liverpool. He is survived by his two brothers, Gren (Gail) of Centreville Mountain, NS and Andrew of Calgary, AB; along with four nieces, Lisa Pinch (Chad) in Port Williams and Rebecca Jones-Boudreau (Richard) in Canning, and Lidia and Marissa Jones of Calgary. He is also survived by grandnephews Zachary, Ronan and Drake. Chris had a big heart and was quick to offer help to those in need. He had many long lasting friendships. While in Hospice care he enjoyed daily visits and calls from family and friends.
Chris was an avid reader who had a great thirst for knowledge. In his early life, Chris developed a love of nature and enjoyed spending time at the camp on Ponhook Lake and environs in Queens County, with his family. He loved to fish and was very adept at catching the biggest trout. He loved to row on both lake and ocean. Chris lived his life in Nova Scotia, and a few years in Calgary. When his father became ill, he moved home to care for his parents. His dedication to their health and wellness was remarkable. Chris had a great interest in birds, and in his last days he found joy in visits from chickadees, cardinals, doves and pheasants that foraged just outside his room. Always quick to smile and laugh, his wonderful sense of humour was with him till the end.

The first time I paid Chris a visit at his home in March this year, I felt his warmth reception and love. It was enjoyable to hear him speak about nature. I will miss him.

so very sorry for your loss
One of my earliest and best friends in Liverpool. Great energy brains and sense of humor. Amazing memory. Life is duller now. Glad I got to see him a few weeks ago. Best to the family and friends.
Chris’s family and friends, I am sorry for your loss. I met Chris when he was an adult student at Riverview School and enjoyed talking with him. Sometimes, I would see him walking his dog in Liverpool but I did not realize he had moved away.
Birds and wild animals are a comfort when one is at the end of life and Chris had that , thanks to family and caregivers.

I am so sorry to read of Chris’s passing. He was a kind and gentle soul. Peace.
Dear Gren & Gail, and Andrew and family: My thoughts are with you all, at this sad time. Although I didn’t really know Chris in person, I knew him through your mother’s eyes when my parents, and Helen and Bev, enjoyed time together at their cottage in Port Mouton and their home in Hunt’s Point. Helen certainly appreciated his attentiveness, and it sounds like he took after Bev in his love of the natural world. May you find comfort in memories of Chris and his passions.
Fondly, Emily McLeod
