JACK – Franklin R., 87, Liverpool, NS
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Franklyn Russell Jack on March 27, 2022. Although we are sad, we are also profoundly grateful for having Frank in our lives. Frank was loved by all that knew him and absolutely amazing at everything he did. Best husband, best father, best grandpa, best friend and on and on….
Frank was born in Dec 1934 in Sherbrooke Village. He started his work career as a fisherman, later getting to travel as a surveyor/landscaper, before finding his calling as an oil burner technician. He worked many years keeping Queens County warm with his magic touch. Frank loved country music and spent much of his free time playing in several bands He loved playing his guitar, making great music and lifelong friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family.
Most of all, Frank was a family man. He married his first wife Wanda in 1957 and had 4 beautiful children. After losing her, he was lucky enough to find love a second time with Gail and was married again in 1983. Together they blended their 2 families to become one with 6 children. Each of them so blessed to grow up in a home so filled with love.
Frank is survived by his daughter Kelly McLeod of Oromocto, NB; LeighAnn Comeau (Tom Callahan) of Chester. His sons Darren of Edmonton, AB; Shawn of Truro, NS; Trevor (Carrie) of Blockhouse, NS; Jeffrey Comeau of Halifax, NS. Grandchildren Meagan McLeod, Liam, Ella, Olivia and Anna. Frank was a Brother-In-Law that I only met a couple of times but was a very welcoming man and enjoyed his company when visiting. I would like to thank his family for putting on the slide show of the families, giving me an opportunity to see a picture of my sister-in-law again and all his children. It’s not easy to put in a few words the wonderful memories that Margaret Anne and I had with Frank and Gail, and then all those years of fishing and hunting with Frank from the time we started in 1988 and continued right up until last year. Along with my brothers John and Ron, it seemed like Frank was more than a friend, really like a brother. I called him “Jack” of all trades because he could fix anything and helped me so much on projects at my cabin. His love of fishing, hunting and playing the bass guitar never to be forgotten. Our favourite fishing story was when he accidentally dumped me into the river in April while hauling the canoe on shore. He always asked me to tell the story because he couldn’t stop laughing enough to tell it. Rest In Peace my friend.

We wanted to say how profoundly sorry we are for your loss. My Dad Doug has fond memories from when they were both young kids growing up and going to school. They both shared a love for country music as did all the boys. It was great seeing the tribute of them playing guitar and hanging out. We will remember him fondly and know he isn’t singing up there he’s only playing guitar and fishing.
With sympathy,
Doug Rudolph, Cathy Shannon (Rudolph) and Rick Rudolph.
