To all of Lowell’s family; I met Lowell when selling him his mini-van several years back, he reminded me of Santa Claus, not just from his looks, but his actions and words were so kind and thoughtful..such a very nice man that he became stuck in my head never to be forgotten! Rest in peace Lowell!!

Gerald and I were saddened to hear that Lowell passed away. We met him first when we camped with our RV in Port Mouton when he lived near the water before his house was finished. We shared many meals and conversations as we parked down by the water many times. Such an intelligent man with a kind heart and soft spoken. As I worked with Dr. Thorne, our paths crossed again and we spoke often. He was well taken care of by the sweet lady who looked after him in his home during these later years. Lowell had many stories to tell and certainly had lived life to the fullest over his years on earth. Our condolences to his family and friends.

It was our great pleasure to know Lowell and we will really miss his stories, intelligence, generous spirit and just plain good humour. He was always a ready volunteer and he once invited me to join him at the Spectacle Lighthouse Art show so he record his memories of Spectacle Island and the Spectacle Lighthouse. When I turned the camera on he told fantastical stories of fairies and sea serpents. Rest in peace kind friend.
