We spent many early mornings at White Point swimming, having coffee & sharing many laughs with the “Ladies of the Lounge” (and a few gentlemen) over the years. I am so sorry that we have lost Gloria. She was a force for good. Dynamic and smart with boundless energy and a great sense of humour, it was always a pleasure to see her. I still have the Icelandic yarn and beautiful sweater pattern purchased from Gloria so many years ago. Partly knit. She was an inspiration. Gloria was also a wonderful friend to my mother Eloise who was one of her early morning swim partners at White Point. Though Gloria was always first in the pool and no matter what time my mother set her alarm, 5:30am, 5:00am, she said she just couldn’t get ahead of her (neither could the White Point Rec Department!). As a friend, wife, mother, artist and business woman Gloria was a role model for many other women in Liverpool. And I will miss her.

I miss very much seeing her speeding past my house on her way to the Post Office. Her insisting that she had the right of way, even in her motorized wheelchair, spoke to her spunk and determlination to live a good good life to the end. i will miss our little chats while getting our mail. i only knew her a short 2 years, but she loved my dog, and therefore, I loved her. . My thoughts are with her family, who were lucky enough to have an unforgettable woman for a Mother, Sister.
