Joseph Cecil Hubbard

Hubbard – Joseph Cecil, age 76, of Charleston, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2nd, 2019 in Queens Manor, Liverpool.

Born in Picton, Ontario, Joe was the son of the late Cecil and Madeline (Bennett) Hubbard.

Joe worked in security for many years, first as a guard at the Liverpool Jail and then as a security guard at the Bridgewater Mall. He served as a member of the Charleston Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years. Joe was an avid sports fan, he coached and played hockey and football in his younger years and he also enjoyed watching Nascar racing and playing darts. He was an animal lover, having numerous cats and dogs throughout his lifetime, he also enjoyed gardening and playing cards.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Melba (Anthony); daughter, Belinda Hubbard, of Liverpool; sons, Sheldon, of Kingston, Ontario, Darren, of Moncton, New Brunswick; stepdaughter, Anna Marie McGinnis, of Liverpool; stepsons, Tim Parnell, of Liverpool, Tony Parnell, of Greenwood; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6th, 2019, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., and a Celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 7th, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., both from Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool.
