After defiantly fighting a fierce, but brief, battle with lung cancer, Georgia Hebb passed away in the presence of family on Saturday, January 5th, 2013 at Queens General in Liverpool, Nova Scotia.
She will be remembered by many for her volunteer work at the hospital and as a director for the Queens Association for Supported Living. Throughout the holidays, the love and support shown by friends has been described in her words as “overwhelming” and gave her great joy and comfort.
Her husband Frank and their three sons and their families extend sincere gratitude for all those who came to Georgia’s side during her final weeks. The kindness and generosity filled their hearts with a love that will be forever treasured along with the memory of a brave soul.
Georgia’s body will be cremated and, at her request, there will be no service. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.

In the 90s when I was living in Brooklyn with my mother, Georgia and I drove to Tai Chi classes in Bridgewater together many times. Those drives were never dull — full of laughter and tales of our lives. I remember planked salmon in your back yard, and a particularly poignant visit Georgia paid to our house during what was to be Mum’s last Christmas. I admired Georgia. She was empathetic, full of spirit, felt things deeply, and was not reluctant to speak the truth as she knew it. Frank, my condolences to you and your sons.

I was 5 yrs old, living in the “prefabs” and I would sneak over and peak through the fence to catch a peak at Georgia, laying flat out, oiled up, on her lounge chair in a Bikini!! In 1970 shocking the neighbourhood! I thought she was the coolest lady I had ever seen. Georgia was before her time, strong, smart and unafraid to say or do what she felt needed. A rare personality in a small town. So sorry that you have lost such a special person.
Karen and Hugh Minard

Georgia was a long time friend of my mothers. As a child we would visit her and Frank. She would make German Xmas Cookies as a treat. She will be dearly missed.
