
Hatt – Joan Dale, 80, of Brooklyn, Queens County, passed away at peace with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
Born in Charleston, Queens County, Joan was a daughter of the late Norman and Mary (Anthony) Whynot.
Prior to starting her family, Joan enjoyed a short career at Queens General Hospital in housekeeping. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dining out and going on road trips. Joan also enjoyed watching the Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud. She will be fondly and lovingly remembered as a kind, unselfish and gentle soul to everyone; appreciating and embracing the simple things in life.
Joan is survived by her daughters Wendy (Vernon) MacGregor of Halifax, Shelly (Reg) Organ of Herring Cove, Tamie Kennedy of Beach Meadows, Marilyn (Joe) Fultz of West Berlin. Her son Kendall of Brooklyn. Her grandchildren Christopher MacGregor, Andre Hatt, Ashley Organ, Joey Fultz and Brendan Fultz. Her great grandchildren Makayla Gallagher, Parker Hatt, Rowen Angelucci MacGregor and Logan Carey. Her sisters Shirley Levy of Mersey Point, Bonnie (Calvin) MacLeod of Port Mouton and Myrtle Ashton of Grand Prairie, AB.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, John, her sisters Helen “Betty” Johnson, Linda Henneberry, Norma Buchanan and Marie Oickle. Her brothers James and Dana and son-in-law Alex Kennedy.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. At Joan’s request, there will be a private family graveside memorial service at a later date.
